Ancil Lewis, CEO of Big Sandy Health Care, will be the featured speaker for the University of Pikeville’s Coleman College of Business
Speakers and Leadership Series. Lewis will speak on the topic “Healthcare Business in Appalachia.” The event is set for Thursday, Feb. 23, at 1:30 p.m. in Booth Auditorium, Record Memorial Building.
For 19 years, Lewis has held the position of CEO of Big Sandy Health Care, a private, non-profit corporation providing health services to residents in five counties through five primary care centers, three pharmacies and a dental clinic, employing more than 100 health providers.
Prior to his career with Big Sandy Health Care he served as MBA program director and instructor of management and marketing at Morehead State University. Lewis has earned a master’s degree in sociology, master of social work in health systems and an MBA in management. He has served as an adjunct faculty member for several institutions and currently teaches at University of Pikeville-Coleman College of Business, University of Kentucky College of Social Work and Big Sandy Community and Technical College.
