The Elliott School of Nursing has been in operation since 1983 and since then has graduated more than 800 students who have gone on to nursing careers in a variety of settings. A career as a Registered Nurse enables one to work in a variety of settings, typically with great pay and benefits. Nurses have opportunities to get to know their patients, work as a team, give back to their community, and even travel the world! Our experienced and dedicated faculty are ready to prepare you for an exciting career.
The University of Pikeville Elliott School of Nursing offers a two-year program associate degree in nursing (ADN) program. The ADN program also permits a licensed practical nurse to earn their ADN in two semesters/one year, once admitted to the LPN-to-RN program of study. The ADN program has full approval status from the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
Applicants to UPIKE’s nursing program are eligible to apply for the Rural Health Nursing Fellowship, and if accepted, a student who meets all of the obligations could have their nursing school student loan debt paid!

While there are a variety of professionals on social media, registered nursing wanted to learn which careers gain the most attention from social media users. To determine this, we analyzed the number of views associated with each profession’s hashtag on the TikTok platform.

The Elliott School of Nursing also offers an online nationally accredited RN-BSN program. This program is for RNs only and has separate admission criteria and curriculum.
The RN-BSN program was the first 100% distance learning program at the University of Pikeville.
