Important ADA Housing Accommodation Reminder
New students who anticipate the need for ADA housing accommodations are highly encouraged to submit their documentation for the 2023-2024 academic year to the Center for Disability Services by July 1, to increase the likelihood of the University’s ability to meet the accommodation and be able to participate in Group Housing or the Returning Student Housing Selection processes.
Students who submit their ADA Housing Accommodation documentation after this date may be accommodated where space allows.
The Office of Residence Life offers two options for returning students to apply for housing for the 2023-2024 academic year: Group Housing Applications and Returning Student Housing Selection.
Please see below for more information on these processes and important deadlines to keep in mind:
Group Housing All upperclassmen students requesting specific suite-mates (in groups of 4, 6, or 8) to live in upperclassmen housing together can apply for Group Housing. The application is open on March 30, 31, and April 1
Group Housing is available in Kinzer and College Square for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. In addition, Connecting Rooms in Bears Tower (former Hilton Garden Inn) are available. Groups will be able to make a preference of two residence halls, but will not be able to prefer a specific floor or suite.
Any remaining suites will be available for Returning Students during the Regular Housing Registration period for any student who has not applied for Group Housing.
To be fully considered for Group Housing, all members of the group must complete an In-Person Group Housing Registration, as outlined in the instructions that will be emailed to the students in advance.
Returning Student Housing Selection Students who did not participate in Group Housing may select a room and assign a roommate to their selected room between April 11 – April 15 via live.upike.edu.
In the application, residents will have the chance to make updates to the following information:
You will be able to select a specific room and add a roommate during the following timeline:
Housing Registration will begin on April 11, starting with Seniors. Registration will open at 12:00 PM/Noon on each day.
Please note that the classifications of Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen are based on credit hours, as established by Registrar.
*Please note all roommates have 48 hours to confirm the roommate request and submit their housing application. You will not be able to assign a roommate to your room until their designated selection day.
Important ADA Housing Accommodation Reminder Students who anticipate the need for ADA housing accommodations are highly encouraged to submit their documentation for the 2023-2024 academic year to the Center for Disability Services by April 1st to increase the likelihood of the University’s ability to meet the accommodation and be able to participate in Group Housing or the Returning Student Housing Selection processes.
Late Housing Applications Any housing applications submitted by current students after the closure of the Returning Student Housing Selection in April will be held until campus-wide assignment and roommate notifications are sent out during the summer months.
All returning students who missed prior deadlines are urged to submit their housing application by July 1, via live.upike.edu as housing fills quickly. Mutual roommate requests can still be submitted and will be accommodated as space allows.
