KYCOM Announces Military Residency Match for Seven Students

The University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM) is proud to announce that seven of its medical students participated in the Military Residency Match on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, and successfully matched into residency programs with the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force. These students will continue their medical training in prestigious military hospitals as they work toward becoming highly skilled military physicians.

Joseph Bott matched into an internal medicine residency at Womack Army Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Jennifer Choate will begin an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Jacob Parker matched into a family medicine residency at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Bott, Choate and Parker, who currently hold the rank of 2nd lieutenant in the Army, will be promoted to captain upon graduation. David Delillis also matched into a residency spot with the Army, although further details were not disclosed at the student’s request.

Noah Norton matched into a family medicine residency at Naval Hospital Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Florida. Sarah Zumwalt will begin a family medicine residency at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton in San Diego, California. Norton and Zumwalt, both Navy ensigns, will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant upon graduation. 

In addition, Taejun Park will begin an internal medicine residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, Texas. Park holds the rank of Air Force 2nd lieutenant and will be promoted to captain upon graduation.
