2/16/25 Update from President Webb

16 February 2025

It is with a heavy heart that we write to you about the flooding that has devastated our community. We sincerely hope you and your loved ones are safe and accounted for.

We know that many of you may be feeling anxious, stressed, or even displaced during this time. Please remember that the university is a community, and we are here to support each other.

Our Thrive Center is here to help if you are feeling overwhelmed and would like to speak with a counselor. Their phone number is 419-560-6381 or they can been reached by emailing counseling@upike.edu

The university is actively working to assess the damage to our campus and surrounding areas. We are committed to restoring normal operations as quickly as possible, but there are currently many unknowns.

If you or anyone you know has been directly affected by the flood, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of the people listed below for assistance. We are here to support you in any way we can.

KYCO Students: Josh Justice joshuajustice00@upike.edu

KYCOM Students: David Falletta davidfalletta@upike.edu

Undergraduate Students:  studentaffairs@upike.edu

If there are specific things that you need, please take a moment to fill out this short form. We will do our best to help in any way possible.

Watch for information regarding classes a little later in the day. We are monitoring the flood waters as they recede and will post more information soon.

Beyond campus, we recognize that many in our wider community have suffered significant losses. The university is committed to being a part of the recovery effort. In the next few days, we will work to organize efforts with local organizations to provide our support as is our UPIKE tradition. If you are interested in volunteering or contributing to the relief efforts, please contact Rob Musick at RobertMusick@upike.edu

Please stay safe and know that we are here for you.

Striving to serve,

Dr. Burton Webb

President
