Description: | This position requires previous experience in optometry. Responsibilities level 2: 1. Inventory supplies and create list for restock CSD 2. Inventory contact lens fitting sets, scan for reorder, place orders as needed for lab CSD 3. Maintain google document of student data and assist with processing for CL orders for the lab CSD, T, CT 4. Create and maintain supply kits for use in lab CSD, T 5. Check in lenses and label them T, CSD 6. Keep track of lenses and supplies ordered P, T, C 7. Performs ancillary testing and loads test results into EHR C, P, CSD, EI 8. Clean, disinfect, inspect, verify and maintain contact lenses CSD, T, CT 9. Sort and assign students to lanes for workshops and labs using excel or google sheets. T, CSD, CT 10. Interact with workshop/vendor organizer in preparation for special events. P, T, C, L 11. Engages with research and utilizes reference manager software. CSD, T, CT 12. Documents test results in charts and serves as a scribe C, P, CSD, EI, T 13. Assists in entering medications into patients charts C, P, CSD, EI, T

Work Schedule: The priority work schedule is our open hours and during special events. Additional Comments: It is preferred that work study be available for at least a portion of specialty lens clinic (Wednesdays). Supply boxes must be ready for lab by the evening before lab. Time may be flexible to accomplish this. After lab, supply boxes and lenses will need reorganization, verification and cleaning. There may be opportunities to assist with associated research and optometric testing as well as workshops. This position would be of greatest interest to an optometry or pre-optometry students. Second Year Success Leaders play a vital role in fostering a supportive and engaging environment for fellow students. Responsibilities will primarily focus on organizing and hosting various small group activities and events to enrich the student experience. Second Year Success Leaders will be expected to possess strong communication skills, basic event planning abilities, and a passion for facilitating meaningful interactions among peers. By fostering collaboration between students, faculty, and staff, Second Year Success Leaders contribute to the creation of a vibrant and inclusive campus community that supports the holistic development of all its members.
Responsibilities:
i. Opportunities for Collaboration: Proactively seek out opportunities to involve faculty and staff in small group engagement initiatives, such as workshops, panel discussions, or guest speaker events. ii. Facilitate Communication: Serve as a liaison between student groups and faculty/staff members, effectively communicating the goals, objectives, and logistics of each engagement opportunity. iii. Invite Participation: Extend invitations to faculty and staff to participate in small group activities as guest speakers, mentors, or facilitators, leveraging their expertise to enrich the student experience. iv. Provide Support: Offer assistance and support to faculty and staff members who are interested in getting involved in student-led initiatives, including guidance on event planning, logistics, and promotion. v. Promote Collaboration: Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and cross-departmental cooperation by facilitating interactions between students, faculty, and staff from various academic backgrounds. Seek Feedback: Solicit feedback from faculty and staff members following their participation in small group engagement activities, using their insights to improve future events and initiatives.
