Dr. Amna Hasan Named Clinical Director of the Appalachian Center for Preventive Medicine

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) proudly announces the appointment of Amna Hasan, BDS, DABOP, FAAOP, FNAP, as the clinical director of the newly established Appalachian Center for Preventive Medicine, located in Floyd County, Kentucky. As of March 1, Hasan will provide leadership and oversight for the interprofessional clinic, ensuring the efficient and patient-centered delivery of healthcare services. Hasan will also retain her appointment in the Tanner College of Dental Medicine as a faculty member.

With a deep commitment to improving health outcomes in Eastern Kentucky, Hasan brings extensive experience and expertise to this important initiative. As clinical director, her leadership will be instrumental in advancing preventative care strategies and enhancing community health services in the region.

Hasan will play a pivotal role in fostering a cohesive, interprofessional healthcare environment that integrates the expertise of professionals from multiple disciplines, including medical, dental and vision care. The newly established clinic will operate through an interprofessional model, working closely with the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kentucky College of Optometry, Tanner College of Dental Medicine, College of Nursing and Human Services, and Coleman College of Business. Hasan will also collaborate with regional stakeholders to develop long-term healthcare strategies and ensure the clinic aligns with the mission of the university and the needs of the community.

Hasan’s appointment for the next academic year reflects UPIKE’s ongoing commitment to advancing healthcare education and service in Appalachia. Through her leadership, the Appalachian Center for Preventive Medicine will serve as a hub for interdisciplinary collaboration, fostering innovative approaches to preventative care and improving access to quality healthcare for the region.
