All new students are required to provide information regarding their housing plans for the 2025-2026 academic year.  The application will gather information for students wishing to live on campus as well as allow commuter students the option to select a meal plan.

The following timeline has been established for housing assignment notifications:

  • April 15: Housing and Meal Plan Application is available for the 2025-2026 academic year.
    •  Step 1: Submit an enrollment deposit
    • Step 2: Obtain your UPIKE username and password sent to your personal email address used on the UPIKE Admissions Application
    • Step 3: Use your UPIKE information to log in to upike.housing.cloud to complete the application and select a meal plan
    • For full details about the enrollment process, visit the UPIKE Growl Webpage
  • June 1: Priority deadline for mutually requested roommates. Mutual requests submitted by this date are guaranteed, so long as both roommates indicate each other on their application and are first-year, traditionally-aged students. Beginning mid-June, housing assignments will be sent out on a weekly basis and will include the roommate’s name and contact information. All notifications will be sent to UPIKE email addresses.
  • July 1: Priority deadline for all students wishing to live on campus. All students are urged to complete the Housing and Meal Plan Application by this date to be matched with another student based on the lifestyle questionnaire on the housing application. Mutual roommate requests can still be submitted and will be accommodated as space allows. Students who anticipate the need for ADA housing accommodations are highly encouraged to submit their documentation to the Disability Resource Center by this deadline to increase the likelihood of the university’s ability to meet the accommodation.
  • July 15: Students who submit a housing application by July 1 will receive room assignments including roommate name and contact information by July 15. All notifications will be sent to UPIKE email addresses. Rolling notifications will continue weekly until classes begin.

Any student who experiences issues while completing this application should email housing@upike.edu or call 606-218-5224 for assistance.

The Office of Residence Life offers two options for returning students to apply for housing for the 2025-2026 academic year: Group Housing Applications and Returning Student Housing Selection.

Please see below for more information on these processes and important deadlines to keep in mind:

Group Housing
All upperclassmen students requesting specific suite-mates (in groups of 4, 6, or 8) to live in upperclassmen housing together can apply for Group Housing.  The application is open for Group Housing from April 1 – 3. Residence Life will communicate more in depth steps for the Group Housing process the week before the application period opens.

Group Housing is available in Kinzer and College Square for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.  In addition, Connecting Rooms in Bears Tower are available.  Groups will be able to make a preference of two residence halls, but will not be able to prefer a specific floor or suite.

Any remaining suites will be available for Returning Students during the Regular Housing Registration period for any student who has not applied for Group Housing.

To be fully considered for Group Housing, all members of the group must complete an In-Person Group Housing Registration, as outlined in the instructions that will be emailed to the students in advance.

Returning Student Housing Selection
The housing application will open for all returning students that did not participate in the Group Housing Process on April 4. The application will open based on the student’s academic status (Senior, Junior, etc…). The housing application can be accessed by visiting: upike.housing.cloud

In the application, residents will have the chance to make updates to the following information:

  • Personal Contact
  • Lifestyle Questionnaire
  • Emergency Contact
  • Medical insurance

You will be able to select a specific room and add a roommate during the following timeline:

  • Housing registration will begin on April 4th…
    • April 4 – Seniors
    • April 7 – Juniors
    • April 10 – Sophmores & Freshmen

Please note that the classifications of Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen are based on credit hours, as established by Registrar.
